I always like to taste wines over a couple of days to see where they are headed. Here's a case in point. Day one it was quite reserved with the door ever so slightly ajar. A day on and things have blossomed beautifully.
Scents of licorice, mint and hints of clove build a case before purple and red fruits move in. You get a sense that the momentum is building steadily. The fruit thins out a touch which was a surprise. Mind you, it's a wine many would enjoy regardless. Cocoa tannins unfurl slowly and linger long, but if only there was that fraction more follow through.
