Cooks Lot Handpicked Shiraz 2016

An interesting wine that sucks you in. It's ripe at 15.5% alc, something which asks a lot of questions.

In some respects, you need to get on your hands and knees and sift through the obvious stuff to find the jewel. It's earthy with a thread of juicy raspberry running through the mid-palate. Add puffs of earth and some char and the going is good. But the high alcohol has brought with it some Amarone type feels. Rehydrated raisins too. I keep scratching my head but I want to keep going back. That's gotta be a good sign, right?
