Cold nights need wines like these. A fire and a square of chocolate lodged in the side of your mouth wouldn't be a silly idea either. There was a suggestion of snow on the Granite Belt a week ago too now I think of it - fitting really.
Black berry fruit, a dash of Ribena, some minerally action courtesy of the Granite soil, dark chocolate and a hint of cedar, dried oregano and clove.
The fruit is mouthfilling, drying to finish but with voluptuous tannins. It will settle nicely with another year or two under the belt. A handy go-to.
Drink to eight years.
