Over the Way Grampians Shiraz 2014

Over the Way is a label made by fellow wine scribe Patrick Ecklel. His range of wines currently numbers five and he draws fruit from the Grampians, Heathcote, Sunbury and Macedon Ranges currently producing 4000 odd bottles.

Hand picked and aged in older French oak for 18 months.

Well presented with a wax seal, this is quite an enjoyable drink. Medium bodied, the fruit strolls through with ease. The older oak comes through. Seems a little too old though. A gentle spice sits on the back of plums, blueberries and mulberry fruit. Soft, it slowly draws out saliva. Dusty and grippy to finish. Tick.

A good mid week tipple.
