TarraWarra Estate South Block Chardonnay 2015

My least preferred of the four new TarraWarra Chardonnay 2015 releases. Oh to be picky.

This is my first look at the South Block too. It's the only southern facing site, no surprise where the name came from. 100% Mendoza clone (taken from Leeuwin Estate) and made without yeast or acid additions.

It's lean, tart and crisp. Grapefruit acidity is almost crunchy. Some texture is evident and courtesy of 100% whole bunch pressed fruit which is racked directly to barrel. Pithy in some respects, the lean profile is what I can't get away from.

I couldn't finish a glass.

86/100
