d'Arenberg The Cenosilicaphobic Cat 2012

Here's a big boy. No surprise it's been held back and released at seven years of age. If you like 'em big, give this a shot.

A blend of Sagrantino and Cinsault, dense dark fruit is the boss. Stewed plums, some prunes and church pew aromas get my attention early. Aniseed, dried sage and black earth add savoury characteristics in the mouth beside plums and whispers of blue fruit. Sapping, puckering and drying, the mouth is left with a spray of powder like tannins that sit long. One for hearty meals and casseroles for the cooler months.
