Winemaker Justin McNamee says this is the blockbuster in his range. It sure is. An interesting blend that just works, large plates of soul food are must by your side with a large pour of this in the glass.
Dark and sour cherries, dark plums and canned plum juice, dusty earth, old leather, some meatiness and tar. Each time I reach for the glass I get a sense of something new stepping forward. A 45/35/20 blend seeing 24 months in seasoned French oak, handfuls of depth reach out framed by dried herbs plus a dusting of black pepper and fine spices. Tannins stick and grip hanging long - cocoa like. If you like a wine with depth and personality you're in for a treat.
