Blackbilly Chardonnay 2018

A curious Chardonnay from the 'Adelaide' region.

There's something about this wine that just doesn't gel. Aromas of scrumpy, lemon myrtle, mascarpone and some ginger. An interesting camphor aroma is present too. Flabby to taste, it feels lopsided and doesn't urge me to hurry back for more.

82/100

  1. Strange review. Our fav of the whites. We aim for complexity with the full wild yeast in old oak, ML and sur lie/stirring style. NJH

  2. This Chardonnay was tasted with similarly priced Chardonnays and was certainly the outlier.
