From a self-confessed winemaking nomad, this Rosé from the South Burnett is made Ashley Berini. It's the kind of wine you want in your glass when tackling a barbecued steak this summer.
Having sourced fruit from various regions on the east coast of Australia, Berini has hit the mark with this Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Queensland's South Burnett region. When speaking with her recently, her passion for winemaking is clear and it's seen her produce wine from the King Valley in the south to now the South Burnett, three hours north-west of Brisbane.
Bone dry, it's all things tangelo, orange and mandarin peel. With an attractive and eye catching label which offers a tribute to her late four legged companion, there's some great width and breadth through the mouth which will carry beef and lamb dishes with ease. Enticing textural feels only heighten the need for a top up. Great stuff!
