The Olive Grove Chardonnay is normally a blend of Adelaide Hills fruit and McLaren Vale. This release is solely from the latter, and it shows.
McLaren Vale is many things, just not a home for Chardonnay.
Scents of lime juice, ruby grapefruit, glace pineapple and melted butter. A little bitsy, it comes in waves. Citrus and pineappley things continue through the mouth. The acid has pinch and seemingly refuses to move on. White nectarines appear to have dragged their feet through but without any great detail. It's a bit hard to get through due to that acidity. Not for me.
Drink now to three years.
