Geoff Merrill Parham Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

A tribute to Bill Parham, Geoff Merrill's grandfather, who lived 102 years and one month. This Cabernet will, too, be long-lived.

Aged in brand new American oak for 27 months and sourced from two premium sites - Wickham McLaren Vale (85%) and Graymoor Coonawarra (15%).

A luxurious wine. It just smells of class. The American oak adds some sweetness, but the depth of blackcurrant fruit out-wrestles it. Quite a herby and tomatoey type early, sage, mint and some dried herbs are prominent alongside that black fruit. The mintiness gains momentum with more time in the glass. Sit back, loosen the belt a notch or two and just enjoy.
