Ray Costanzo has mastered Vermentino by playing around with texture and skin contact. He's applying some of those techniques here, producing a Rosé which cranks the slurp factor high. Bang the bargain drum too - a beauty for $18!
Soft strawberry fruit is etched throughout with neat touches from red berries and dried red cranberries. Slips of red apple tap in too. But the clincher is the textural appeal from barrel-fermented Grenache (25%) which rolls out long and slow through the mouth. Red apple skin and crunch close it out. Shiraz the main player (42%) with Sangiovese (32%) plus a drop of Semillon making a cameo appearance.
Moreish and then some, chill hard and charge at sunny days and friends with big smiles.
