Sourced from Parker's Abbey Vineyard, it saw 16 months in French oak (75% new).
It opens with those leafy Cabernet things and grilled capsicum you'd come to expect. A riot of blackberries and blackberry jubes follows with red currants in hot pursuit. The fruit is in great form and is ably supported by licorice, dark chocolate and new leather, building a neat savoury profile. Despite the large portion of new oak, the fruit walks hand in hand, melting into every crevice due to its seductive flow. Fine, dusty tannins coat the palate on close offering a classy sign off. Although this release didn't reach the dizzy heights of the 2021, the quality is clearly evident. Be sure to decant well to drink now but have comfort knowing that this will age gracefully beyond a decade.
