Soumah Hexham Single Vineyard Savarro 2025

Attractive aromas of white field flowers hook me in from the outset. This Savarro from Yarra Valley producer Soumha has built some respectable form in recent years, and here we go again.

Just to clarify, though, Savarro is the cellar name for the wine, and the variety used is Savagnin (also known as Bon Blanc, Heida and Clevner in other parts of the world).

Fermented in tank on lees, those floral scents are glorious and are partnered by lemon zest. The palate is awash with poached pears, green apple peel, flickers of lime cordial and some faint honey tones. A Mediterranean tonic like texture builds further interest with a thread of cinnamon spices that move and sway about with ease, leading to a great length. Moreish and then some, it's a wine that will be perfectly placed on the table for Sunday lunch. Great stuff!
