Brand & Sons Dalliance Shiraz 2021

In a rare venture north from their Coonawarra base, Brand & Sons have seized a parcel of Barossa fruit from one of Australia's most revered vineyards. The Dalliance Shiraz was born.

From the Barossa subregion of Marananga, 300 dozen of this rich and generous Shiraz were produced. But hold this for a couple of years yet. Tasted over four days, it waltzed with style and grace on days three and four of tasting.

Dark berry fruits and plums sit at the core with dark chocolate and Christmas cake nuances. An array of exotic and fruit bun spices is scattered about. Dutch cocoa rides up late with cloves and cedar bringing some ski lodge appeal. Fine, grippy tannins reach out to an elongated finish that seems never-ending. Above all, the confident yet seductive presence is what I am here for, sipping slowly and embracing every drop. Be sure to give it a good decant to enjoy now, but time will certainly reward.
