Nebbiolo Bianco sounds exotic, doesn't it! I've never heard of this variety. But stand down, I'm reliably informed that it is a synonym for Arneis. This is Soumah's debut release and what a great entrance it has made.
Back in its Piedmont home, Arneis is planted beside Nebbiolo vines to attract the birds, keeping the prized red fruit intact, hence the name Nebbiolo Bianco.
Bright and fresh, yet it's not afraid to roll up its sleeves and deliver some texture and complexity through the mid-palate. Think white lily flowers, pie apple, cut green apple, tinned pears and shimmers of lemon juice. It possesses green tea tannin-like feels that contribute to the complexity and texture. An energetic pineapple and lemony acidity whips in on close leaving a delicious sherbety tang to consider. A great sundowner, chill and relax.
