From vines that are 4 to 33 years old, there is no denying the beauty here. Made from free-run juice, the structure of this wine is what appeals most. White cherries and white raspberries set the tone with rhubarb and pomegranate. I keep swirling the glass as watermelon husk rises up. It spends four months on lees (three of those in old puncheons), and creamy ribbons of delight are the result, flowing with ease and adding handfuls of savoury joy. A fine almond presence and some blood orange nuances raise their hand late with a little tension on close. Classy stuff - what else would you expect from this producer?
