A thrilling Riesling from White Gate Wine Co that is shaped by contemporary winemaking, where complexity and tactile depth are the focus, rather than the classic pristine citrus-driven profile you'd expect.
Sourced from the Eden Valley, it was fermented in stainless steel and then racked to amphora for seven months on lees. White and yellow flowers offer a delightful perfume, with golden apple, pie apple, and lemon juice creating an intriguing and rather delicious flavour spectrum. Time on lees produces a little creaminess in the form of Greek yoghurt. Plush and rounded, it moves and sways about with ease. Soft cinnamon spices and a neat line of acidity add further appeal on a lengthy and moreish finish. It's a wine that steadily builds interest, and before long, you are completely absorbed. A mightily impressive take on Riesling!
