Winemaker Matt Burton suggests warmer years produce the better Wild Semillons. The aim of this label is to achieve greater levels of natural flavour and phenolics.
Several components make up this blend - clean ferment, cloudy in barrel, some on 100% skins and a part 30% on skins for an extended period.
The textural feel of the wine is certainly a highlight. Mouthfilling yet with a vibrancy, there is also 8 grams residual sugar per litre. That fruit sweetness can be seen but complements the end result well. Citrusy characters roll through with ease but a longer than expected finish has you sitting up for more. A pleasure to drink.
Drink now to three years.
