This looks and feels traditional in its delivery, although you get the sense it is quite considered in its making. But there is some telling oak here that is hard to miss. It's quite a different wine compared to the seductive and silky 2016 release.
Christmas cake, cloves and dried herbs play a strong game with cedar sitting front and centre. Some weighty plums flood the mouth with fine and persistent sandy tannins. Slow-cooked beef awaits.
