Yalumba The Scribbler 2012

Signature's little brother is always a solid and reliable type. The first whiff screams of a Cabernet dominant wine.

Dark fruits a-plenty wash about but it's the bitter dark chocolate which grabs my attention. More time in the glass yields savoury dried herbs. Oak is prominent too.

Decant to get the best from it. Dense with generous fruit. Plummy and currants. Fruit drives through which is a contrast to my initial thoughts after a whiff or two. That oak steps back a bit on delivery but coconut like oak rolls through late on a smooth and long finish. Great buying particularly as it can be found for just under $20.

Will age long term but good to go now.

Very good.
