Two Cabernets tasted on a recent Granite Belt excursion and two wins. This Reserve Cabernet is big and buxom with a long future ahead of it.
Despite being five years young, it's still off its ideal drinking window. After seeing two years in French oak, the fruit and oak have married nicely.
All the varietal characters are there: blackberry, cassis with some herbal influences but none of the mint variety. Dense, it drives through powerfully. This is a big boy. Chalky and puckering to finish, it will live well beyond a decade.
