The Family Crest label has taken on a face lift and gee I like it. The crest is still the centre piece with an addition of five dots above it referring to the five generations. A pick and shovel link to the family's mining past. Clever. Good drinking Shiraz too to cap it off.
Sourced from Blewitt Springs, Seaview, Willunga and Sellicks Hill. The youngest contributing vines are 20 years old with the oldest 50+.
Solid McLaren Vale Shiraz in show chocolate, raspberry and dark berry fruit. Oak plays its hand without strangling the fruit. It's smooth with a peppery finish whipping in the tail.
A more than reliable go to. I suspect you may even find this a smidge below $20 in retail land.
Drink now to five years.
