Hofer Family Wines La Epico 2016

After a few set backs, Marcus Hofer is back on his feet. His label officially launched in 2017 with a focus on small batch production. Hofer bleeds Langhorne Creek and its surrounds - his passion clear from the few conversations we've had. This blend slips down the throat all too easily.

Looking a bit creamy in the glass, aromas of  bright red fruits and oregano are perched between a savoury drive. Sour cherries add momentum with a touch of mulberry. A fine dash of plums plus some chewy dark fruits roll in before moving to an acid crunch finishing chalky and dusty. The fruit sticks to the front two thirds of the palate - if only it would flush through a little more.

Regardless, pizza and pasta have a friend here. A satisfying drink.

Drink now to five years.
