More of a muscular and earthy Touriga, this release from Vinteloper is sourced from Langhorne Creek.
Touriga often brings a floral lift and vibrancy, but this expression takes a different path. Tightly wound and compact, I found this to be more of a powerful interpretation.
The fruit profile sits on the darker spectrum highlighted by dark cherries and ripe plums. Baked blueberries make an effort to sneak in too. A savoury character is pinned to the core driven by some cured meats and pan juices. Well weighted with a respectable drive, you get the sense this is built for cool nights and hearty winter dishes. Thumbs up from me.
