Not as expensive as its Contours stablemate, this Manse Vineyard Grenache offers a fuller, weightier expression from the outset.
From 1924 planted vines that dig their feet into clay soils, darker fruits and berries lift from the glass wth scents of dried red petals, earthy nuances and a dusting of dark chocolate.
The palate follows suit, bringing dark cherry and plum fruit with an earthy drive that keeps everything grounded. There is more heft here compared to more delicate expressions of Grenache with the fruit carrying good concentration and drive. Neat and composed, it comes together comfortably rather than spectacularly with the fruit and savoury elements working in unison. A solid, enjoyable Grenache that goes about its work with little fuss and drinks well.
