Sticks Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

What's there to do at the airport when your flight is delayed by an hour? That's right, find the bar. But all bars have generic wines overtaken by big companies so I found a book shop with a modest list different from the rest. I needed something to wash down my Cherry Ripe Slice and gave this a crack.

It's been a  long time between drinks when it comes to the Sticks label. This is a simple take on cool climate Cabernet. There's not a lot of weight nor depth but this fills the need for those in seek of an easy drink with little fuss.

The fruit thins out mid palate - the donut wine at its stereotypical best. Spice flanks the earthy and dark plums, blackberry and cassis offered. A reasonable finish, the job gets done.

Drink now to five years.
