de Iuliis Shiraz 2017

I had a number of Shiraz samples lined up on the bench. Some were double the price of this wine. Some were a little more fancy you could say. But this is what I kept coming back to. It's a wine you just want to drink. No frills. No bells and whistles. Just solid, damn good drinking Shiraz. Zero in on it I say.

This is Mike de Iuliis' entry level Shiraz and it shapes up and delivers a treat.

Beautiful medium-bodied fruit and expected Hunter Valley earth, this sways and maneuvers every crevice of the mouth with ease. Lucious black fruit and tempered spice curl around the mouth with tempered rhythm. Dried red flowers continue to pour from the glass urging another sip, and it would be rude not to considering the absolute ease in which this wine releases its personality.

A great drink and super drinking for the money. Get in the queue and quick!

Drink now to ten years.
