Tip top Malbec from South Australia's Wrattonbully region.
Graceful and intent on gradually revealing its true persona, over a couple of days tasting this Malbec showed how time will only continue to bring out its best.
Filled with dark plummy fruit, blackcurrants and blackberries walk hand in hand with shards of dark chocolate and flashes of mint. An attractive bouquet of florals and deft touches of dried herb play a respectable supporting role. A smooth ride through the mouth, it's beautifully balanced with a tight grasp of cocoa like tannin with a long and stunningly moreish finish. Pour me another glass, please.
