This is all sorts of delicious. Impress those around you with something a little left of centre - Saperavi in the pleasure zone.
Drinkability is sky high. Licorice, dark plum, choc mint, and red floral aromas burst out of the glass. There's a highly fragrant and pretty rosella/lavender thing going on which I find mesmerising. Dangerously smooth and glossy in delivery, it comes across the higher side of medium-bodied despite the 14%. Some black earth, tar, licorice all sorts slowly meander through the mouth adding further interest. Mouth-filling, it's a wine which just bowls along slowly for what seems a forever lasting finish. Brilliant really.
Savour this 2017 - there was no 2018 vintage.
