Dodgy Bros Juxtaposed Old Vine Shiraz Sandy Old Block Wait Vineyard 2019

A ripping McLaren Vale Shiraz, it is one of those wines I'd prefer to drink than review - that says it all really. Normally the backbone of the Dodgy Brothers Shiraz, this was too good to not bottle separately.

The Wait Vineyard is a classic Blewitt Spring site. A 'sandy old block', it was planted in 1963. Always dark in colour and fruit profile, it sees large format old French and Hungarian oak. No fining or filtering, only 100 cases produced.

Wade through generous black fruits laced with some raspberries. Dark chocolate with a rich gravy feel through the mouth, there is some peanut/hazelnut nuttiness about it's swagger. It feels glossy despite no fining or filtration with a sprinkling of herbs scattered atop. Soft spices and pepper drape themselves around the edges and linger beautifully. Brilliant. Just brilliant!
