Coulter Wines Adelaide Hills Sangiovese 2016

Get on board here folks - damn this is impressive Sangiovese! I just want to do a forward flip with pike into it.

Delicate floral aromas of violets and purple flowers get things underway. It's pretty and nimble on its feet too. Vibrant, its youth is telling but its sheer drinkability is outstanding. I felt compelled to see out the last drop before the brother-in-law intervened.

A two day carbonic maceration, 30% whole bunch, third use oak and bottled without fining or filtration have all added levels of intrigue.

Laden with bright cherry fruit encased by fine spices, the mouth is coated generously with a deft touch. Everything in its place and nothing bogging it down. Finishing dry, that juicy fruit leaves a lasting impression - boom boom!

Sangiovese goes fabulously with food but, like here, it'll be gone all too quickly.

Only small quantities made - run to this. Take a bow Mr Coulter.

Drink now to three years.

95/100 - Excellent
