Gutherie The Snare Syrah 2014

I stumbled across this in a well stocked bottleshop in Blairgowrie (Mornington Peninsula) so I couldn't resist having read much about these wines. And it stacked up too.

Those who are up for a little funk, step right up!

Bottled without fining and filtration after 9 months in oak. Wild yeast fermented, 40% bunches are tossed in and those bunches come to the fore. I do like bunches.

Red florals, baked raspberries, pencil shaving aromas. Medium bodied, savoury action from the whole bunches fill out mid palate with red fruit gracefully riding the wave. Those fruits curl around the mouth with a crunch from the acidity. Delicate pepper is dusted across the surface. Super soft in the mouth - delicious. I just wanted more and I'd suggest it is well worth finding some for yourself.

Drink now to five years.

93/100 - Very good
