Three percent Viognier was used in the ferment before 18 months in French oak (40% new). Another 12 months on lees before being disgorged in October 2016 ready for immediate enjoyment.
The seas part as this generous cruise liner floats through effortlessly. Big dark fruits and mulberries are flanked by dark chocolate, black olive and bitter coffee characters. Harmonious in delivery, a wave of Barossan earth weaves its way amongst the fruit dragging savoury characters behind it. Slippery like tannins parade on a long finish which is immensely satisfying.
