Oliver's Taranga Sagrantino 2016

Oh, hello! Close your eyes and take a whiff and be expected to be lifted to higher places. Such an expressive wine. I'd be happy to just to absorb the aromas.

Sangratino is an Italian variety. A big personality follows with blockbusting and sapping tannins. This rendition is no different.

Violets and purple flowers, dark chocolate and some earthy aromas. Tight acid knocks everything into shape with the fruit firm in the mouth. Definitely a food wine, it's puckering in the mouth with black fruit and black plums deep-rooted. Cocoa tannins linger longer. Alongside a meal, be it pork or beef, I could easily have a couple of glasses.

Drink now to ten years.
