Imported by Joval, this 100% Chardonnay Blanc de Blanc hails from Burgundy and is fermented in tank (Charmat method) rather than in the bottle. Approachable with respectable interest, this is a good drink for $28.
It opens with buttered toast, sourdough, green apples, lemon zest and white fleshed stonefruit. There is enough depth of flavour to keep you in the game with an elongated finish, albeit highlighted by slippery pastry feels. All up, it's a solid party starter and something I can see on pour at several venues given the interest it delivers and the price point.
