I'm taking a punt and guessing that this wine's nickname in the winery is Robert. I digress... Barossa Nero d'Avola from vines planted in 2012 and it's bloody delicious!
There is plenty going on here to appease. Dark cherries and plums, sarsaparilla and cola with a blackberry thread pinning it all together. A little shimmer of chocolate taps away in the background with a sprinkling of dried thyme and sage adding a neat savoury edge. Silky, fine tannins slide through with ease and tense up late. Beautiful drinking for the asking price. Pizza or burger night is firmly on the radar.
