Gartelmann Wines Stephanie Pinot Gris 2017

The Magpie is back! Hooray! It seems the Gartelmann label has gone back to it's roots - thank goodness. I do like the Magpie. That attempted trendy label used for a little while looked cheap. Pinot Gris from Orange here.

It takes a faint copper appearance in the glass. Aromas of pears and white flowers are brushed with a touch of musk and honey. Easy drinking, honeyed tones roll through the mouth as do green apples but there's a lingering sweetness which just hangs. Pears come running again late - there's plenty on offer here. I'd prefer the finish to be a bit crisper too.
This will please many but I'd only be good for a glass.

Drink now.
