Things have changed up in the office and behind the scenes at Rymill but it is business as usual in the winery. Classic Coonawarra Cabernet here.
Despite being 2014 and three years of age, some more time won't hurt it. It evolved nicely for the couple of hours I let it sit in the glass. Initially quite tight, it cooled its heels and relaxed to show the inner beauty I suspected was there.
The usual characteristics are here - cassis, blackcurrant plus a distinct leafy character. Full bodied, those leafy traits are even more pronounced in the mouth. Plump but sleek, there's a powerful fruit drive without being heavy handed. Oak is balanced neatly.
From a great Coonawarra vintage, this will cellar well beyond a decade.
