Soumah Equilibrio Syrah 2015

As per the back label, "Some would call it Reserve but we call it Equilibrio as, at the end of the day, it is all about harmony and balance."

A wine built for the long haul.

From one of the best Yarra Valley vintages in recent memory comes this Syrah. The best of the best barrels.

I looked at it over a couple of days and it grew on me admittedly. Trying to get a picture of where it will sit in the future isn't an easy task, but the bones of there for continued positive growth.

Earthy and savoury characters are awash largely due to the whole bunches. Lead pencil, clove, fennel and fine spices take the lead. A hint of cardamom too. Forest berry fruit is soft and well balanced. A sweet dab of Caramello is imparted courtesy of the oak. Tannins are fine and dusty finishing a tad course but that savoury appeal continues to trickle through effortlessly.

Still a bit tight, but be patient and hold on. It will only get better.
