My first look at Glandore Estate. I was curious to find out that this is the 'Reserve' Semillon yet there is no label below it. If the best fruit is put aside for the reserve I'm interested to know where the other fruit went. Perhaps there was no 'other' fruit - 2017 said to be a pretty smart vintage in the Hunter.
Pretty aromas. I could smell it all day. A choir of lemonade, squeezed lemon, lemon grass and cut herb all sing in unison. A hint of bath salts too - nice. I did like the aromas more than the flavour profile however. It's good up front but thins out too quickly. Watery through the mid palate but finishes with citrusy tang which gets things moving again. I don't dislike it, I suppose I'm not completely sold.
I'd be keen to see where some bottle age takes it.
