Five years young and it screams of a youthful wine. Such a delicate and pristine Semillon which has many years ahead of it.
The Belford Vineyard is located 10km north west of the winery and was planted in 1933.
There's an evident tension with the noose held tight around the citrusy fruit. All things lemon are the rage here - preserved lemon, lemon curd and lemon juice slowly release the grip. Toast, honey and kerosene creep up in stealth mode ready to surge forward given the moment in years to come. Beautifully balanced and ready to satisfy, this would be a fabulous wine to look at every year for the next decade plus. But for now, sublime.
