Pizzini Rubacuori Sangiovese 2016

These playful new labels capture the Pizzini history fabulously. This one is of Katrina Pizzini on the front of what seems her new car. I would be sitting on a Maroon XD Falcon but that's another story... Here we have a serious expression of Sangiovese. Sink your teeth in and your claws. Delicious and then some.

The back label suggests this has 20 years ahead of it. I'd love to look at it then. Oh to have a crystal ball now. But, for what I have, I'm loving what's in the glass. It sees two years in oak and comes from the best fruit available. Think leather lounge, mandarin peel, sage and cloves plus a lick of char. Superfine, it's so long and sleek. Devilishly attractive spices cling to a long and persistent finish. A hint of warmth rolls in that pegs it back a little but, oh my, give it a few years.

Drink to ten years+
