Soumah Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

I made the comment in my recent review of the Syrah that Soumah wines are always interesting, approachable and easy to kick back with. Maybe I shot myself in the foot? Or I spoke too soon. Oops. This is a good Cabernet but not up there with previous releases.

An autumnal type of Cabernet, this is loaded with dried herbs and dried leaf litter. Quite dry, drier than previous, it's earthy with puffs of undergrowth and lead pencil. That expected generous and vibey black fruit doesn't play the starring role as I've seen before - you can't win them all I suppose. It's a good drink but those lofty Soumah standards peg this back a little in my opinion.
