Ridgemill Estate The Spaniard Tempranillo 2015

Pizza night and a glass or two of this will do just fine. A Crianza style Tempranillo.

Handpicked fruit, fermented with 10% whole bunches. A mix of old and new French and American oak was used for 12 months. Bottle aged for 18 months prior to release.

Dark plums, dark cherry fruit, hibiscus syrup and dried flower perfume. Cinnamon and wood spices add layers of interest. A curious whiff of peppermint choc appeared early but moved on soon after. Cured meat and jus add meatiness through the mid-palate. Dry to finish, tea-like tannins cuddle pleasantly around the mouth with a nip of spice to reassure.

Drink now to six years.
