Robert Stein Semillon Riesling Gewurztraminer 2017

A modern twist on a blend first launched by winemaker Jacob Stein's grandfather 40 years ago. Today, this is a field blend, wild fermented and held on skins for seven days, finishing fermentation on heavy lees to build texture.

A texture is sure does have. It rolls around the mouth like a ball with rounded edges and plenty of give. Whiffs of yellow flowers, lemon meringue pie and lemon butter. A few more swirls of the glass and little white flowers and white lily aromas step up. Citrusy to taste, lemon zest and shades of pineapple add further appeal but that soft textural goodness just lingers and sits pretty. I could do some damage with this.

Drink now.
