Cooks Lot Iconique Barrique Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

The flagship wine for Cooks Lot, this draws on fruit from Orange and the Hilltops.

Handpicked and cold soaked for 10 days and fermented in 900L rotating French barriques. The barriques were rotated 9 times a day. Aged in oak for 18 months.

Green herbs, barbecued capsicum, blackberry and cassis waft from the glass. The fruit is generous and has a spring in its step. It's juicy and fills the width of the mouth. The acid is well placed and has what I could describe as a crunch. Silky through to the end with fine tannins, this is a wine which will happily kick on for a decade plus. A wine worthy of its status.
