Gundog Estate Hilltops Shiraz No.2 2021

It's great to see two Hilltops Shiraz from the same winemaker showcasing the vineyards he gets access to. This No.2 Shiraz is clearly much more aromatic than its No.1 sibling. The presence of this wine appeals to me more than the No.1 too. It's great gear for $35.

Gundog Estate Hilltops Shiraz No.1 2021

Dense and dark, a brooding medium-bodied Hilltops No. 1 Shiraz from Gundog Estate.

Gundog Estate Smoking Barrel Red 2021

A blend of Hunter Valley and Hilltops Shiraz, I'm unsure why it's called a "Red" when Shiraz is actually what it is. It's a great drink by the way, make no mistake.

Gundog Estate Rosé 2022

Sweltering summer afternoons can be sorted with an ice-cold glass of this Rosé from Gundog Estate.

Gundog Estate Indomitus Rosa 2022

Matt Burton sources fruit from a number of regions and it seems he has a habit of polishing a few gems. In short, this is delicious. A fabulous Rosé, I could neck the lot. Find this.

Cassegrain Edition Noir 2019

A melting pot of sorts that brings Syrah and Pinot Noir together from three regions - Canberra, Central Ranges and the Hilltops. An interpretation of the Hunter River Burgundy perhaps that seems very much in vogue at the moment.

Dirt Candy Rosé 2021

Barrel fermented Rosé made with Shiraz grown in Wiradjuri Country. Isn't it great to see producers acknowledging the First Nations people on their labels?

Gundog Estate Indomitus Rosa 2021

Lacy pleasure. Delicate and curvaceous. Gee, we are blessed with the high standard of Rosés available on the shelves. Considered winemaking continues to push the bar higher. Here is a brilliant Rosé from Gundog Estate.

Cassegrain Wines Spring Rosé 2021

Gee, this is one out of the box! A superb Rosé from a producer you may not have on your radar. Afternoon chills just got that little bit better with this in the glass.

Gundog Estate Rosé 2021

A Rosé made from Shiraz and Cabernet, I found the Cabernet to really stamp its authority. It's the type of wine more suited for a casual BBQ than sipping on the sun on its own.

Ridgemill Estate The Spaniard Tempranillo 2021

Bright and playful early on, this Tempranillo is quite dissimilar to previous releases which have been more focused with their game face on. This 2021 is all about big smiles and big plates of food with an abundance of friends nearby.

Grandis Wines Yin-Yang Rouge 2018

The beauty of small producers is their desire to try news things. Here's a wine infused with ginseng as an alternative preservative. The high natural antioxidants of the ginseng help protect the wine during fermentation and maturation resulting in a wine with very low sulphites.

Gundog Estate Squire's Shiraz 2018

A fab blend of Hilltop and Canberra fruit. It seems Matt Burton has magic hands when it comes to blending these regions.

Andevine Hilltops Shiraz 2018

Quite a savoury Shiraz. Nothing particularly jumping out of the glass. Some purple flowers rise up with time building some momentum.

Gundog Estate Hilltops No.1 Shiraz 2017

This is the third Gundog Shiraz vintage from the Hilltops region. It's a great drink to knuckle down with.
