A medium-bodied Shiraz with effortless flow, I preferred this Hilltops No.2 from Gundog Estate much more than its Hilltops No.1 sibling.
It kicks off with dried red petals, red berries, plums, dark chocolate and a black earthiness. Ripples of baking spices reach throughout with a cured meat tease on close. The longer it is open it reveals a touch of licorice. A scattering of dried herbs clings to a persistent, elongated finish. Really impressive stuff, it is an easy recommendation at this price point.
