I loved the Gundog Estate Hilltops No.1 but this No.2 is a step up. Tasted side by side, the elevated beauty was obvious as soon as I moved to the No.2
Like a generous ball of melted chocolate rolling around the mouth, every corner and crevice is coated with flavour, think dark cherries, mulberries and boysenberries lighting up the stage. A sheet of fine spices is draped over the top with cedar, nutmeg and a touch of cardamom adding savoury delish. Delightful drinking, I'm all here for the sumptuous berry basket of fruit, the unwavering persistence and that seemingly never-ending length. It's an excellent wine.
